With rainbow umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and a window sign that simply can’t be missed, Hugo’s is Sherwood's new independent bar ran by Adam and Katharine Shaw. An idea that first surfaced after the pair struggled to find somewhere local to go for drinks.
On arrival, the minimalistic interior with pops of colour immediately make you feel at home. Greeted by the friendliest team of staff, Hugo’s has a lovely atmosphere perfect for both a boozy Saturday night or a quiet mid-week drink.
It might take you a good minute or so to choose from the long list of cocktails available but rest assured, with an experienced mixologist behind the bar, you won’t be disappointed. Cocktails start at £7 so won’t break the bank and with plenty of Mocktails on offer, even the designated drivers can feel included.
📷Upon speaking to Katharine and hearing the thought process behind making the bar what it is, you instantly feel a part of something special. With the interiors carefully selected to represent elements of the couple’s life and tell a story to their customers. Named after their son and formally a Blockbuster, the pair have truly transformed the space into a quirky bar suitable for all ages.
With a menu that changes regularly, Hugo’s has something for everyone. From the wine drinkers to the cocktail connoisseurs, nobody is left out. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even put the bar staff to the test and ask them to create something completely off menu for you.
